Wednesday 24th To Saturday 27th June at 7.30pm
Based On Arthur Schnitzer's "Reigen"
Directed By Freddie Dunstan
This production contains adult themes and strong language from the outset
First performed in Vienna in 1921 where it provoked an obscenity suit, "The Blue Room" is adapted from Arthur Schnitzer's "Reigen". Made into a film in 1950 it became better known as "La Ronde". This modern adaptation, whilst staying close to Schnitzer's original work, is a brilliant meditation of love, betrayal, men and women, sexual desire, and social class. Reset in the present day, with Hare's unquestionable skill, it portrays a succession of characters whose sexual lives enmesh like a daisy chain.
