This play is a Victorian mystery drama with thrills and chills in equal measure.

How far would you go to protect the ones you love?

Set in 1885 in a lonely farmhouse on the Essex marshes, this is the story of Ellen Creed, housekeeper to wealthy retired actress Leonora Fiske.  For Ellen, family comes first and she risks everything to safeguard the future of her two simple sisters.  At first her gamble seems to have paid off, but the arrival of a ne'er-do-well relative, on the run from the police, threatens to reveal the truth.

What will Ellen do now?

The original 1939 West End production attracted the following reviews:
"Real thrills in the best murder play of the year."  The Star
"A first class slice of victorian eeriness; first-rate 'theatre' from beginning to end."
This production is presented by arrangement with Josef Weinberger Limited

Tickets £8 and £9, now available from the Box Office, Devizes Books, Sidmouth Street, Devizes SN10 1LD, tel: 01380 725944.
