The classic Gilbert & Sullivan operetta 'The Mikado' is reworked and rearranged to appeal to a Wharf audience.
All the original melodies are here, but given a blues, jazz or ragtime twist. Our 'Three Little Maids' arrive (a parody of The Andrews Sisters) in a 1930s jazz joint reminiscent of The Cotton Club, where Yum Yum is to meet KoKo her betrothed. A love smitten Nanki Poo hopes to persuade Yum Yum to marry him, however, Katisha, hot on Nanki Poo's heels has far more sinister intentions!
Prepare yourself for a very 'Hot Mikado', the closest thing to a party on stage. Can a Wharf audience cope with so much fun?
An absolute must for Purists and G&S aficionados.
Based on "The Mikado" by WS Gilbert & Arthur Sullivan. Originally produced at Ford's Theatre, Washington D.C. Frankie Hewitt Producing DirectorTickets £8 & £9 SOLD OUT!
