Take a plot containing multiple clergy (genuine or otherwise), a former actress and an old flame, stir in an uppity maid, an escaped prisoner of war and a bike-riding closet tippler and you have all the ingredients of a first class farce. Place the whole in an English vicarage in 1943, garnish with twists, turns, confusions, mistaken identities, numerous doors, much rushing around, and fast and clever dialogue and yo are assured a satisfying evening's theatre.
This play opened to rave reviews at the Comedy Theatre, London in 1946 and has enjoyed many successful revivals at major theatres all over UK since. "See How They Run" maintains its reputation as one of Britain's best-loved farces.
Saturday 24th September will be a Gala Night at the Wharf Theatre. Tickets for this special night will be £12, and will include a welcoming glass of bubbly and refreshments, served from 7.15 pm. The performance will begin at 8.00 pm.
