Ahmet (Arif Jakup), a 15-year-old shepherd, lives with his dad (Aksel Mehmet) and younger brother Naim (Agush Agushev) in a small Macedonian village. Since their mum died, Ahmet has become responsible for the sheep and his little brother, who has stopped speaking. Ahmet is besotted with his neighbour Aya (Dora Akan Zlatanova) but she is promised to someone else. Brought together by their love of music, Ahmet rigs up his tractor so Aya can practise dance routines with her friends. A delightful and beguiling offbeat comedy drama, with wonderful, natural performances from the two young leads. Winner of the World Cinema Audience Award at Sundance 2025.
